Second Round of Russian Cup Finals Starts in Khanty-Mansiysk
Rating favourites strike first.
The quarterfinals of the Russian Cup final among men and semi-final of the women's event started in the capital of Ugra on December 7.
In the open event, Dmitry Kryakvin lost to Alexey Sarana as White, Sergey Volkov bested Stefan Pogosyan, while the games Sjugirov - Goganov and Kokarev - Chigaev were drawn.
In the women's tournament, Marina Guseva beat Lea Garifullina with the black pieces, while Ekaterina Goltseva and Oksana Gritsayeva made a draw.
The return games (and tiebreaks, if necessary) will be played on December 8.
