The International chess festival "Aeroflot Open 2024" will be held in one of the most beautiful hotels of the Russian capital city, The Carlton, Moscow, on 2-8 March. The programme includes the international chess festival and a stage of the Russian Youth Cup.
International chess festival:
The players with FIDE ratings of 2300 and higher as of 01.01.2024 are entitled to take part in the event provided that they pay an entry fee not later than 00:00 on 19 February. The tournament is a 9-round Swiss event with a time control of 90 minutes for the whole game with an increment of 30 seconds starting from move 1. The guaranteed prize fund is 15,000,000 rubles.
Stage of the Russian Youth Cup:
The tournament is open for the strongest players of the Russian regions born in 2010 and later (under 13 and 15 years old). The age groups are not to be combined. The guaranteed prize fund is 1,000,000 rubles.
