Wesley So Leads in Wijk Aan Zee

Six rounds of the traditional Dutch supertournament are played.

In the 6th round of the Tata Steel Masters, Ian Nepomniachtchi lost as Black to Anish Giri. The other two Russian participants also had Black, but ended their game in draws – Andreikin playing against van Wely, and Karjakin facing Eljanov.

In the round 7, Karjakin will face Aronian, Andreikin will play Harikrishna, and Nepomniachtchi will face another tailender, Rapport. 

Grandmaster Markus Ragger, who was an undisputed leader of the Tata Steel Challengers, lost a game to Gawain Jones. Ragger and Jones are now in the lead with 4.5 points. The only Russian participant of this event, grandmaster Vladimir Dobrov, is tied for 10th–11th places with 2.5 points.
