Vladislav Artemiev Wins Russian Blitz Championship
Anastasia Bodnaruk won the women's championship.
Russian Men's and Women's Blitz Championships ended in the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi. 263 players including 54 grandmasters competed in four tournaments.
Grandmaster Vladislav Artemiev won the men's championship with 18/22 (!), 2.5 points ahead of Dmitry Andreikin (who won the silver) and Alexander Morozevich (who got the bronze).
Grandmaster Anastasia Bodnaruk won the women's championship with 17/22. Natalija Pogonina was second with 15.5. Elena Tomilova got the bronze with 15, while Daria Charochkina and Alexandra Kosteniuk, who also got 15 points, remained on 4th and 5th places respectively.
Men's Senior Championship: 1. Evgeny Dragomaretsky – 11/13, 2. Evgeny Sveshnikov – 10.5, 3. Evgeny Kalegin – 8.
Women's Senior Championship: 1. Tatiana Ovsyannikova – 13/15, 2. Galina Strutinskaya – 12.5, 3. Tatiana Bogumil – 12.
Russian Team Rapid Championships begin on Wednesday, October 5.
