Two Russian Teams Lead the World Seniors

The championship is underway in Greece.

The World Senior Championships are played on April 24 through May 2 in Greece. There are two age groups present, 50+ and 65+. Five rounds out of nine are already played. 

The team from St. Petersburg is leading the 50+ group. The lineup is Alexander Khalifman, Sergey Ivanov, Sergey Ionov, and Evgeny Solozhenkin. 

The teams from England and Armenia are two points behind. 

The 65+ group is led by another Russian team, formed by Evgeny Sveshnikov, Evgeny Vasiukov, Yury Balashov, Vladimir Zhelnin, and Nikolay Pushkov. France and Germany are falling behind.
