Team from Sverdlovsk Region Leads Belaya Ladya Final after Two Rounds

Russian team won the second round of the match against India 4-0.


The second round of the 50th Belaya Ladya final was played in Dagomys on June 3. The team from the Sverdlovsk region is leading the race with a perfect score: they won both matches 4-0 to get 8 points in total. Chess players from the Tula region are half a point behind, while five teams have scored 7 points. 



Pairings and results

A match between school teams of Russia and India is being played as part of the event. It is a two-format contest in standard and blitz chess. A team is made up of two boys and two girls born in 2005 and later. The Russian team won 4-0 in the second round. The score is 6.5-1.5 in favour of the Russian chess players.

The international seminar for coaches and teachers run by GM Sergey Janovsky, head coach of the Russian national chess teams, started on June 3. GM Sergei Rublevsky (in Russian) and GM Ernesto Inarkiev (in English) gave masters classes for everyone interested. A rich cultural and entertaining program is traditionally organized for young players and will last throughout the entire event.
