The Simferopol Team Wins All-Russian Orphanages And Boarding Schools Championship
The event finished on May 9 in Sochi.
Another big team event ended on May 9 in the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina – the all-Russian team championship of orphanages and boarding schools. There were 22 teams with 4 players (at least one of them had to be a girl), which competed in Swiss format and played 7 rounds to determine the winner.
The specialized boarding school #1 from Simferopol took the first place. The teams from Luga boarding school (Leningrad Region) took 2nd and 3rd places. The competition was organized by Russian Chess Federation, and was supported by Severnaya Korona fund and Don development company.
RCF President Andrey Filatov attended the closing ceremony together with Natalia Yunchenkova, CEO of Severnaya Korona, and Vladimir Kirsanov, board chairman of Don. Andrey Filatov congratulated everyone on the Victory Day, thanked the sponsors and awarded the winners.
Hopefully this competition will become traditional and bring an even stronger lineup next year.
