Round 3 Tiebreaks Played at FIDE World Cup in Baku
Nepomniachtchi, Svidler, and Esipenko advanced to Round 4.
Monday, August 7, the Round 3 tiebreak of the FIDE World Cup finished in Baku. The outcome of the Russian players' games:
Nepomniachtchi – Mamedov (Azerbaijan) / 1.5:0.5
Vitiugov – Berkes (Hungary) / 0.5:1.5
Esipenko – Vallejo Pons (Spain) / 2:0
Van Foreest (Netherlands) – Svidler / 0.5:1.5
Nikita Vitiugov is eliminated, while the others continue fighting for the World Cup.
Tuesday, August 8 is a rest day. The first game of Round 4 is scheduled on Wednesday, August 9. The upcoming matches of the Russian players are as follows.
