Polina Shuvalova (Russia) and Tan Zhongyi (China) shared 3rd-4th places with 12 points. Thanks to her superior tie-break, Shuvalova won bronze.

CFR President Andrey Filatov:

- My heartiest congratulations to Polina Shuvalova on her winning the bronze medal of the FIDE World Women's Blitz Championship! Having started the tournament with five wins in a row, our player was retaining a sole lead for a long time and demonstrated a strong play. Shuvalova was tenaciously fighting for the highest awards. Unfortunately, however, two losses at the finish denied her the champion's title. I am sure that Polina will draw the necessary conclusions to keep bringing joy to the Russian chess fans with her wins to come.

The Russian participants were playing under the FIDE flag.
