Maxim Matlakov Wins Mayor of Kazan Cup
Vladislav Artemiev clinched first place in blitz.
The Mayor of Kazan Cup was held in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan on 28-30 January.
Maxim Matlakov won the grandmaster tournament A. The winner is followed by Vladislav Artemiev (2nd place) and Grigoriy Oparin (3rd place).
FM Robert Safin triumphed in the B tournament for young local players, FM Artur Gaifullin is in second place, while Roman Novikov gained bronze. WFM Ekaterina Nasyrova showed the best result among girls.
Vladislav Artemiev became triumphant in the blitz tournament. Maxim Matlakov won silver, while Alexey Sarana finished third. Alisa Galliamova was the strongest among women, Valentina Gunina was in second place, and Ekaterina Nasyrova in third.
