Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan) is in the lead with five wins in the first five rounds of the traditional Reykjavik open. Half a point behind are Pavel Eljanov (Ukraine), David Navara (Czech Republic), Jon Viktor Gunnarsson (Iceland), Alexander Fier (Brazil), Abhijeet Gupta (India), Erwin L'Ami (Netherlands), Jacek Stopa (Poland) and Gao Rui (China).
