Magnus Carlsen Maintains Leadership in Online Tournament Named After Him

The fourth round of the Magnus Carlsen Invitational started on Chess24.com on April 24.
Magnus Carlsen defeated Maxime Vachier-Lagrave by a narrow margin. The first two games were drawn, then the world champion secured the victory and made a draw from the position of strength in the fourth encounter.
Fabiano Caruana beat Alireza Firouzja 3-1. The American won first two games but Firouzja managed to fight back in the third one. However, Caruana defeated his opponent in the fourth game thus winning the match.
