Ramil Khasangatin Wins Fridrikh Prokhorov Memorial
Republican Grand Prix continues in Tatarstan.
The tournament commemorating Fridrikh Stepanovich Prokhorov, a chess organizer from Kazan, took place on January 5. 73 players participated, including two grandmasters, two international masters, and 7 FIDE masters. Ramil Khasangatin, grandmaster from Kazan, took the first place. He is also in the lead in Kazan Qualifier combined standings. Lyubov Markelova won the women's section.
The defending champion of the Republican Grand Prix is Gata Kamsky.
