Sergej Karjakin Defeats Yu Yangyi

Russia won the first half of the match against China with a perfect 4-0 score.

Sergey Karjakin triumphed over Yu Yangyi in the concluding clash of the first half of China-Russia elimination match, played in the northern China. The players drew a classical chess game, and the Russian convincingly won both blitz games. 

Thus, Sergey Karjakin solely defeated Wei Yi, Ding Liren, Ni Hua, and Yu Yangyi, giving Russia a 4-0 lead in the match. 

The second part of the event takes place in Harbin on December 12-17, and will consist of five more matches.
