Ju Wenjun and Valentina Gunina Maintain Leadership in Skolkovo

Round 5 of FIDE Women's Grand Prix Leg completed.

The fifth round of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix leg was played in the Skolkovo business centre on September 15. Kateryna Lagno defeated Pia Cramling, while the games Paehtz - Ju Wenjun, Gunina - Stefanova, Koneru - Goryachkina, Harika - Kosteniuk, and Sebag - Kashlinskaya were drawn.  



Valentina Gunina and Ju Wenjun are leading the race with 3.5 points out of 5. Aleksandra Goryachkina, Kateryna Kagno and Humpy Koneru are half a point behind.

Round 6 pairings: 

Ju Wenjun - Kashlinskaya, Kosteniuk - Sebag, Goryachkina - Harika, Cramling - Koneru, Stefanova - Lagno, Paehtz - Gunina. 

The games start at 3 p.m. The final 11th round will begin at 11 a.m. (Moscow time).

The prize fund is 80,000 euros.

A vast additional program is organized during the tournament. The Skolkovo Cup, a stage of the Russian Rapid Grand Prix, will be held on September 21-22.
