IMSA World Masters Championship Starts in China

The International Mind Sports Association World Masters Championship is taking place in Hengshui, China, on May 13-18. Chess event of IMSA Masters 2019 consists of rapid (11 rounds, May 14-16) and blitz tournaments (11 rounds, May 17-18). Russia is represented by Dmitry Andreikin, Vladimir Fedoseev, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Valentina Gunina, and Anastasia Bodnaruk. 

Four rounds of the rapid tournament were played on the first competition day. Standings:

Open: 1-2. Leinier Dominguez, Vladimir Fedoseev - 3 points, 3-7. Anton Korobov, Ivan Cheparinov, Le Quang Liem, Dmitry Andreikin, Ruslan Ponomariov - 2.5, 8-9. Boris Gelfand, Santosh Vidit - 2, 10-14. Rauf Mamedov, Yu Yangyi, Bu Xiangzhi, Richard Rapport, Peter Leko - 1.5, 15-16. Wang Hao, Gawain Jones - 1.

Women: 1-4. Mariya Muzychuk, Valentina Gunina, Zhansaya Abdumalik, Nana Dzagnidze - 3, 5. Antoaneta Stefanova - 2.5, 6-11. Alexandra Kosteniuk, Humpy Koneru, Anna Ushenina, Lei Tingjie, Zhao Xue, Dronavalli Harika - 2, 12-13. Tan Zhongyi, Anastasia Bodnaruk - 1.5, 14-15. Irina Krush, Elisabeth Paehtz - 1, 16. Bela Khotenashvili - 0.5.

Round 5-8 will be played on May 15.
