FIDE World Blitz Championships Are Underway in Warsaw
The leaders are Levon Aronian and Bibisara Assaubayeva.
The FIDE World Blitz Championships have begun in Warsaw.
Levon Aronian (USA) has taken the sole lead in the open section with 10 points out of 12. Bassem Amin (Egypt) is trailing by half a point, while Parham Maghsoodloo (Iran) is 1 point behind the leader. The Russians Vladimir Fedoseev, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Alexander Grischuk, Daniil Dubov, and Vladislav Artemiev have got 8.5 points each.
Bibisara Assaubayeva has pulled ahead in the women's tournament. The Kazakh player has got 8 points out of 9 and is ahead of Vaishali (India) by half a point. Humpy Koneru (India), Alexandra Kosteniuk (CFR), and Zhansaya Abdumalik (Kazakhstan) have scored 7 points each.
On the final match day, nine rounds will be played in the open event and eight in the women's. The games will start at 4 PM Moscow time.
