Donation Support from Play for Russia Tournament on the Way to Health Institutions

Ian Nepomniachtchi helps hospitals of the Bryansk region.


Donation support from Play for Russia charity tournament is being sent to the dedicated health institutions. 

Ian Nepomniachtchi has directed his share to the Bryansk municipal polyclinic №4 and the Klimovo Central District Hospital in the Bryansk region. 

The grandmaster has donated to the hospitals the amount of 700,000 rubles, allocating yet another 2.5 mln. rubles for the purchase of individual protection means. 1227 medical protective masks, 1050 disposable protective suits and 390 high disposable protective overshoes were bought and sent to the hospitals.

Ian Nepomniachtchi: "I'm very glad to have an opportunity to support the health workers of the Bryansk region and I hope that the help will come in handy".

The donation pool from Play for Russia tournament in favour of health workers has amounted to 25 million 600 thousand rubles.

Regardless of final tournament standings, the total prize pool has been shared equally among regional hospitals (specializing, above all, in the patients suffering from the coronavirus) and charity organizations. Going into the tournament, the participants determined the health institutions to receive financial support. 

Co-supported by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation, the RAMAX group of companies" and Gazprombank (Switzerland), Play for Russia tournament was organized by the Chess Federation of Russia at the initiative of its participants.
