Belaya Ladya Final Starts in Olginka on 1 June

The final stage of the all-Russian school team competition "Belaya Ladya" will be opened in the AMAKS Resort "Orbita" (Olginka, Krasnodar Krai) on 1 June. This year, the tournament will see eighty-five teams, including the ones from Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.  

The tournament is organised by the Chess Federation of Russia and the Russian Ministry of Sports and supported by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation. The CFR general partner is PhosAgro. The CFR Partner is Aeroflot. 

The competition is a 9-round Swiss event. Each team consists of four players (with at least one girl) and one coach. The opening ceremony will be held on 1 June. The match days are 2-10 June.  

An extensive additional programme will be traditionally organised during Belaya Ladya. It will include master classes, lectures with grandmasters, and conferences as well as various sports and intellectual games.  

The team competition Debut will be held on 3-9 June as part of the Chess in Schools programme, co-organised by the Chess Federation of Russia and Timchenko Foundation. This year the event will see the teams from Altai, Zabaykalsky, Khabarovsk, and Krasnodar krais, Bryansk, Kemerovo, Kurgan, Novosibirsk, Pskov, Rostov, Samara, Tula, and Voronezh regions, as well as from the republics of Buryatia, Ingushetia, Mordovia, Udmurtia, and Chuvashia. Young players will compete according to the Swiss system with 9 rounds. 

The events are held subject to compliance with the requirements of the authorisation acts adopted as part of the fight against COVID-19 on the territory of Krasnodar Krai as well as with the Regulations on organisation of the official sports events in Russia in the context of maintaining risks of the COVID-19 spreading confirmed by the Russian Minister of Sport Oleg Matytsin and the Top sanitary official of Russia Anna Popova.

All participants (players, accompanying persons, coaches, arbiters, the OC members and others) are to comply with the Regulations on the infectious safety.
