Asian Schools Rapid Championship Played in Tashkent

Russian players won one gold and one silver medals.


The Asian Schools Championships started in Uzbekistan on 14 July. The events are divided into several age groups: under 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17 years old. Russia is represented by five players. The Asian Schools Rapid Championship, which brought together more than 300 participants, was held on the first playing day.  

Olesia Vlasova won the U15 girls' tournament, having scored 6 points out of 7. Olesia didn't lose a single game and edged out the main rival Yasmina Alemanova (Kazakhstan) by half a point, having defeated her in a direct encounter. 

Alexander Khripachenko took second place in the U17 open tournament with 5.5 points scored. He lost only to the winner, Khishigbat Ulziikhishig (Mongolia).
