Anastasia Bodnaruk Becomes Russian Women’s Blitz Champion

Vladislav Artemiev is the Russian blitz champion. 

The Russian individual blitz championships among men, women and seniors finished in Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi. The tournaments were held according to the Swiss system with 10 double rounds, time control: 3 minutes plus 2 seconds per move increment starting from the first move.

Anastasia Bodnaruk (Saint Petersburg) made a golden double having added the Russian women’s blitz champion title to the recently achieved rapid one. Anastasia scored 14 points out of 20 to outrun Alina Kashlinskaya (Moscow) by a tiebreaker. Aleksandra Goryachkina (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, 3rd place) and Marina Nechaeva (Moscow Oblast, 4th place) are 2 points behind. Final standings

Vladislav Artemiev (Tatarstan) became the Russian blitz champion with 15.5 points out of 20. Boris Savchenko (Moscow, 2nd place), Daniil Dubov (Moscow, 3rd place) and Vladimir Fedoseev (Saint Petersburg, 4th place) are trailing by half a point. Final standings

In the seniors’ tournament, Evgeny Sveshnikov (Chelyabinsk Oblast) celebrated his victory in blitz as well. He has got 9 points out of 13 and, thanks to his superior tie-break, is ahead of Evgeni Dragomarezkij (Moscow, 2nd place), Anatoli Shvedchikov (Moscow, 3rd place) and Sergey Pozin (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, 4th place). Galina Strutinskaya (Moscow) won the senior women’s event with 11.5 points out of 12. She lost only half a point like in the rapid event. Ludmila Saunina (Sverdlovsk Oblast) is second with 9.5 points, while Tatiana Chekhova-Kostina (Moscow) is third with 9 points. Final standings

On October 3, the Russian team rapid championship starts. The first round begins at 2 p.m.
