Yaroslavl to Host Russian Championship Higher League

Tournament begins on June 26th.

The Higher League of the 71st Russian championship and the 68th Russian women's championship will take place in Yaroslavl from June 25 (arrival) till July 6 (departure) 2018. The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with one free day. 

The match days: June 26-30 and July 2-5. July 1 is the tournament's free day. All rounds start at 3 p.m. (Moscow time). 

The venue and the official hotel is Ring Premier Hotel. The total prize fund is 5,000,000 rubles. 

Top 5 finishers in each tournament receive the right to play in the 2018 Russian Championships Superfinals. The chief arbiter is IA Alexey Moskvin.

The European champions of different years Ernesto Inarkiev, Vladimir Potkin, Maxim Matlakov, Alexander Motylev, and Evgeniy Najer will take part in the event. The starting list is headed by Vladislav Artemiev. Women's tournament is quite strong as well: Anastasia Bodnaruk, Marina Nechaeva, Ekaterina Kovalevskaya, Polina Shuvalova and other well-known players will fight for the prizes.
