Sergey Karjakin Defeats Ernesto Inarkiev in Friendly Match in Ingushetia
Head of the Republic Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov visited Tower of Consent international festival.
The 4th International chess festival Tower of Consent finished in the Republic of Ingushetia. The central event was a friendly match between the Russian grandmasters Sergey Karjakin and Ernesto Inarkiev. On the final match day, the rivals played 8 blitz games on the view point of the Magas Tower, on the height of 100 meters.
Head of the Republic of Ingushetia Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov visited the event. The honorable guest spoke to young participants of the festival, played a friendly game himself, greeted the grandmasters, and gave a start to their blitz match. Sergey Karjakin convincingly defeated his opponent 6.5-1.5. It is to be reminded that he also won the rapid part 3.5-2.5.
The youth team event took place alongside the match. 14 teams (each team consisted of 4 players) were participating in the event: they were playing in two groups in the preliminary stage. The winner is the first team of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania. The Republic of Dagestan 2 is on the second place, while Gambit (Dagestan) won bronze.
Tournament on Chess-Results
A rapid open tournament Adi-Ahmad Cup was won by Zaur Tekeev who scored 7.5 points out of 9. Oleg Nechaev is second due to his inferior tie-break. Denis Eraschenkov (3rd place) and Bilukhazh Saidov have got 7 points.
