Dear Mariya Olegovna,

I sincerely congratulate you with your sporting achievement of winning the title of the World Champion!

Recalling my own experience, I have to tell that my most unhappy years of life were those I was the World Champion. I felt burden of responsibility and lacked the necessary support.

I would like to wish you to find an equilibrium and live freely and happily!

Enjoy playing chess!

P. S. Do not forget to look into Capablanca's letter to his young son Jose Raul from time to time.

Anatoly Karpov's telegram:

Dear Mariya!

I sincerely congratulate you with a brilliant victory at the World Chess Championship. Winning such event at the age of 22 is a truly heroic deed. I think the training sessions in France played certain role in achieving the main goal.

I with you new victories in both women's and men's events!

With respect,

Russian Duma Deputy and many-time World Chess Champion A. E. Karpov

Vladimir Kramnik congratulated both Mariya Muzychuk and Natalia Pogonina:

I congratulate the Ukrainian grandmaster Mariya Muzychuk with winning the World Champion title! I won the World Cup I 2013 and can understand how difficult it is to prevail in lengthy knockout events. Mariya covered this tiring distance with brilliance, showing her strong character, inventiveness, and ability to withstand stress. Her victory is a true sporting deed.

I am also deeply impressed by the performance of the Russian Natalia Pogonina, who probably set a new record in winning on demand in three matches in a row.

I wish both players new creative achievements!

Vladimir Kramnik
