Evgeny Vasiukov Wins Russian Senior Championship in Sochi

Natalia Ruchieva takes first place in the women’s section.

The Russian Senior Championship finished in Sochi.  

Evgeni Vasiukov (Moscow), having scored 6.5 points out of 9, became the Champion of Russia. Alexander Lisenko (Sverdlovsk Oblast, 2nd place), Evgeny Sveshnikov (Chelyabinsk Oblast, 3rd place), and Anatoly Lopukhin (Penza Oblast, 4th place) are half a point behind. 

Final standings

In the women’s event, 1-5 places were shared by Natalia Ruchieva (Sevastopol, 1st place), Elena Fatalibekova (Moscow, 2nd place), Natalia Titorenko (Moscow, 3rd place), Ludmila Saunina (Sverdlovsk Oblast, 4th place), and Elena Sazonova (Tyumen Oblast, 5th place) - all of them scored 6.5 points.  

Final standings

The First League tournament was won by Igor Dmitriev (Saratov Oblast) - 7.5 points. Vladimir Kolomensky (Kurgan Oblast, 2nd place) and Oleg Dedyukhin (Kabardino-Balkaria, 3rd place) are trailing by half a point. Yury Polyakov (Krasnodar Krai) and Oleg Repin (Nizhny Novgorod Oblast) also qualified for the Russian Senior Championship Higher league-2018.
