Ernesto Inarkiev Defeats Wei Yi in First Game of Their Match

Big chess festival begins in Ingushetia.

A traditional chess festival Tower of Concord has started in the Republic of Ingushetia. The main event of the festival is Super Match on Tower: a former European champion Ernesto Inarkiev challenges three-time champion of China Wei Yi. The match consists of 6 games with classical time control and 6 rapid games. The final games will be played on the Tower of Concord (100 m in height) in Magas. 

The first game ended with Ernesto Inarkiev's victory with white pieces. 



The festival is organized by Adi Akhmad sports club, Government of the Republic of Ingushetia, Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Ingushetia, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Ingushetia with support of the Russian Chess Federation and the International School Chess Union.
