World School Chess Championships 2016 for school chess champions in categories Open U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and Girls U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 will be held from December 2  (arrival) to December 12 (departure) in Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina (Krasnodar region, Sochi)


Pairing and results


General information

The World Chess Federation (FIDE), the Russian Chess Federation (RCF), and the International School Chess Union (ISCU) have the honour of inviting all National Chess Federations of the FIDE and eligible players to participate.

Entitled to participate are players (Boys & Girls) who are under the age:

Of  7, by 1st January 2016 (date of birth – January 1st, 2009 and after) – Tournament Under     7;

Of  9, by 1st January 2016 (date of birth – January 1st, 2007 and after) – Tournament Under     9;

Of 11,by 1st January 2016  (date of birth – January 1st, 2005 and after) – Tournament Under    11;

Of 13, by1st January 2016 (date of birth – January 1st, 2003 and after) –  Tournament Under    13;

Of 15, by1st January 2016 (date of birth – January 1st, 2001 and after) –  Tournament Under    15;

Of 17, by1st January 2016 (date of birth – January 1st, 1999 and after) –  Tournament Under    17.

Each National Federation or School Association or school may send an unlimited number of players in each of the 12 age groups. In case that one girl group has less than 10 participants, it will be merged with the same open age group category.

All the players shall have the approval of their National Chess Federation.

Continental Champions of 2015 have exclusive rights to participate according to FIDE rules in the same or an upper category. The Organizing Committee provides free board and lodging (in twin share rooms with bath and/or shower) for Champions of  the previous World Schools Championships, Continental Schools Champions of the year preceding this edition as well as for one accompanying person per federation (with minimum participation of 6 players), who has a valid licence as FIDE trainer.
