Valery Zilbershtein Memorial Ends in Bryansk

The event took place in a museum and was supported by Ian Nepomniachtchi.

7th Memorial of Valery Zilbershtein consisted of rapid and blitz tournaments and was organized with a support of grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi, a student of Valery Ideevich. For the first time the event took place in the Bryansk Regional Art Museum. Ian Nepomniachtchi held a speech at the opening ceremony and praised the organizers' decision of combining two forms of art. 

90 players from Bryansk Region, Orel Region, Kursk Region, Moscow Region, and Smolesk Region, including two grandmasters, participated in the tournaments.

IM Dmitry Panchenko from Serpukhov won the rapid event with 8 out of 9. Grandmaster Alexander Danin from Bryansk got second place with 7.5, grandmaster Evgeny Gleizerov from Bryansk was third with 7 points. WFM Ekaterina Makhlaenko (Bryansk) won the women's prize. Candidate master Valery Landyshev (Bryansk) got the senior prize. Candidate master Stepan Zhuravlev (Serpukhov) won the junior prize. 

FM Danila Belousov (Bryansk) won the blitz tournament with 7.5/9. Dmitry Panchenko was second, Alexander Danin and IM Sergey Grischenko (Desnogorsk) tied for third place with 6.5 points. Candidate master Oksana Zadeeva (Bryansk) won the women's prize, candidate master Viktor Zelenin (Bryansk) took the senior prize, first category player Ivan Pronin (Bryansk) received the junior prize.
