Triveni Continental Kings Win Global Chess League

The Global Chess League, a super tournament with an innovative format and a stellar lineup, finished in Dubai on 2 July. The Final saw the match between Triveni Continental Kings (Levon Aronian, Wei Yi, Yu Yangyi, Nana Dzagnidze, Katerina Lagno, and Jonas Buhl Bjerre) and upGrad Mumba Masters (Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alexander Grischuk, Vidit Gujrathi, Humpy Koneru, Dronavalli Harika, and Javokhir Sindarov).
The first rapid match was won by Levon Aronian's team, but the upGrad Mumba Masters managed to strike back. In blitz, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave's team shot ahead, however, Triveni Continental Kings evened the score. The tournament's outcome was decided by Jonas Buhl Bjerre who defeated Javokhir Sindarov in the "sudden death" game.
Thus, Triveni Continental Kings became the winner of the Global Chess League.
