Savina, Bodnaruk Advance to Second Round

The first round of Women's World Championship in Tehran is over.

The first tie-breaks of Women's World Championship were played on February 13. First two games were 25-minute, if the score remained tied, the players continued with two 10-minute games, followed by two 5-minute games, and concluded by an Armageddon game.

The most tense match was played between Anastasia Bodnaruk (Russia) and Mitra Hejazipour (Iran). Bodnaruk, who had equalized the classical part of the match, repeated it three times on tie-break. The match was concluded in an ultimate game, finally won by the Russian.

Anastasia Savina (Russia) defeated Monika Socko (Poland) 2.5 to 1.5. Daria Charochkina, unfortunately, was eliminated by Huang Qian (China) 1-3.
