Rudik Makarian Shares Lead at FIDE World Junior Championship

Round 6 of the FIDE Junior World Championship was played in Gandhinagar, India, on 7 June.
 
In the Open tournament, Rudik Makarian defeated Mayank Chakraborty (India) as Black to join the leaders. Apart from the Russian, Jose Gabriel Cardoso (Colombia), Kazybek Nogerbek (Kazakhstan), and L. De Silva (Sri Lanka) have scored 5 points each. Aleksey Grebnev has drawn Daniel Quizon (Philippines) and has 4.5 points.
 
Anna Zhurova beat Devindya Oshini Gunawardhana (Sri Lanka) as White and is now pursuing the leader with 4.5 points under her belt. Divya Deshmukh (India), who defeated Ayan Allahverdiyeva (Azerbaijan), has 5.5 points.
 
Saturday, June 8, is a rest day at the tournament.
 
The games start at 12:30 PM Moscow time.
