Petrovskaya Ladya Starts In Petergof

The competition runs for the 100th time.

The 100th edition of the international chess festival Petrovskaya Ladya was opened on August 2 in Petergof. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr Baryshnikov, Head of the town of Petergof, and Mr Udodov, Head of Sports Department of Petrodvorets District of St. Petersburg. Pavel Drugov, Director of the festival, read out the congratulatory letter from RCF President Andrey Filatov. 

The festival Petrovskaya Ladya runs in Petergof since 1992. During these years more than 20,000 players took part in the event, and more than 90,000 classical chess games were played. 

This edition of the festival gathered 332 young players from Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Israel, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
