Pavel Ponkratov Won Rapid Grand Prix Leg in Korolev
The grandmaster scored 9 points out of 11.
The Russian Rapid Grand Prix leg finished in Korolev. Pavel Ponkratov won the tournament with 9 points out of 11. Dmitry Frolyanov and Ilya Ilyushenok both scored 8.5 points and shared 2-3 places. By the way, Dmitry celebrated his birthday on May 20; the Russian Chess Federation wishes him new victories! Daria Pustovoitova showed the best result among women. A chess legend Evgeny Vasiukov finished first among seniors. Young chess players Volodar Murzin (7.5 points) and Dmitry Tsoi (7 points) caused many troubles for more experiences players.
