Mikhail Lozovatsky Memorial Finishes in Chelyabinsk

The winner is Tagir Salemgareev


The International Chess Festival Mikhail Lozovatsky Memorial finished in Chelyabinsk on January 23. The event consisted of two tournaments featuring 114 participants.
 
70 players from 10 national federations, including 25 grandmasters, competed in the A Tournament. 

Seven players scored 7 points out of 10. Thanks to his superior tiebreak, Tagir Salemgareev (Kurgan region) became the winner of the tournament. Grandmasters Zhamsaran Tsydypov (Buryatia) and Andrey Shariyazdanov (Sverdlovsk region) shared 2-3 places with absolutely equal tiebreaks.

WGM Olga Girya (Ugra) showed the best result among women (5.5 points), having edged out IM Olga Badelka (Belarus).  

FM Ivan Florov (Chelyabinsk region) won the B Tournament, having scored 8 points out of 10. Mikhail Egorov (Belgorod region) and Ivan Morozov (Chelyabinsk region) are half a point behind.
