London Chess Classic Begins December 4

Alexander Grischuk is the only Russian in this tournament.

The fourth and last leg of the Grand Chess Tour 2015 will take place on December 4-13 in London. The lineup of this elite round-robin consists of Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Fabiano Caruana (USA), Hikaru Nakamura (USA), Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria), Alexander Grischuk (Russia), Vishy Anand (India), Anish Giri (Netherlands), Levon Aronian (Armenia), Michael Adams (England), and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France). 

Schoolchildren helped the tournament director Malcolm Pein with carrying out the drawing of lots. 

The participants received the following starting numbers:

1. Topalov, 2. Grischuk, 3. Vachier-Lagrave, 4. Caruana, 5. Anand, 6. Adams, 7. Aronian, 8. Carlsen, 9. Nakamura, 10. Giri.

Therefore, the London Chess Classic will begin with the following games:

Topalov-Giri, Girschuk-Nakamura, Vachier-Lagrave-Carlsen, Caruana-Aronian, Anand-Adams.

Time control: 2 hours for 40 moves, 1 hour + 30 second per move for the rest of the game.

December 9 is a rest day.
