European Youth Championship Starts in Mamaia

Russia is represented by a considerable number of players.

Romania is hosting the European Youth Championship. The Russian delegation includes an impressive number of players. Rising chess stars Aleksey Sorokin, Andrey Esipenko, Timur Fakhritdinov, Kirill Shubin, Volodar Murzin, Andrey Tsvetkov, Artem Pingin, Savva Vetokhin, Ekaterina Diakonova, Aleksandra Maltsevskaya, Anna Afonasieva, Ekaterina Goltseva, Ekaterina Goltseva, Kamaliya Bulatova, Ekaterina Miroshnik, Leya Garifullina, Galina Mironenko, Galina Mikheeva, Alexandra Shvedova, Anna Shukhman, Olesya Fedorovam Sofya Svergina, Evelina Zavivaeva, and other talented athletes arrived in Mamaia. 

Nothing exceptional happened in round 1; the majority of favourites won their games.
