Ernesto Inarkiev Lectures Chess Students at Sirius
The European champion met the young stars.
A session of the chess department is currently underway at the Sirius Educational Center. A number of medal winners of World, European, and Russian junior championships arrived to study with a group of experienced trainers and attend lectures from guest speakers. Russian Chess Federation made a pleasant surprise, providing two lectures from grandmaster Ernesto Inarkiev, current European champion. The grandmaster drew conclusions from the Carlsen-Karjakin match and examined the key moments of the match with Sirius students. The children learned defending, converting tiny advantages, and maintaining the pressure at the elite level.
By the end of the lecture, Ernesto Inarkiev made a contest “Play like Magnus and defend like Sergey!” The winners received gifts from the European champion.
