Eight Rounds Played at Online Nations Cup
Team Russia lost chances of winning medals.
Rounds 7-8 of the Online Nations Cup were played on Chess.com on May 8.
In the seventh round, the Russian team lost to the USA 1.5-2.5. The games Artemiev - Caruana, So - Karjakin, and Goryachkina - Krush were drawn, while Ian Nepomniachtchi was outplayed by Hikaru Nakamura.
Then Team Russia was defeated by China with the same score. The games Nepomniachtchi - Ding Liren, Wang Hao - Artemiev, and Karjakin - Wei Yi finished in draws, and Aleksandra Goryachkina lost to Hou Yifan.
Having scored 15 match points, Team China secured a spot in the super final. The US team is 4 points behind.
