Chess Players Arrive in Korolev for Rapid Grand Prix Leg
Many famous grandmasters will take part in the event.
A regular leg of the Rapid Grand Prix of Russia starts in the city of Korolev (Moscow Oblast). Many famous grandmasters are taking part in the event: Alexander Morozevich, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Pavel Ponkratov, Valentina Gunina, Mikhail Kobalia, Sergey Volkov, Ildar Khairullin, Dmitry Kokarev, Boris Savchenko, Viktor Kupreichik, Yuri Balashov, Evgeni Vashiukov and many others. The event is a 11-round Swiss tournament. The playing days are May 19-20. The prize fund makes up 650 000 roubles. The Chief Arbiter is IA Mikhail Kryukov.
