The Afro-Asian Chess Association (AACA), one of the premier chess organisations bridging two of the world's most dynamic continents, is delighted to announce its newly appointed leadership.

Stepping into the role of President is Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifah Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, currently serving as the Asian Continental President. Sheikh Sultan brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game of chess.

In a significant appointment, Sheikh Sultan has nominated His Excellency Turki Al Shaikh of Saudi Arabia to the role of Honorary President. His Excellency Al Shaikh's influence and commitment to the sport will be instrumental in driving the vision of the AACA.

The Deputy President's role will be filled by the African Continental President, Tshepiso Lopang of Botswana. Lopang's dedication to fostering chess talent in Africa has been evident throughout her tenure, and she will undoubtedly bring the same commitment to the AACA.

Vice President positions have been appointed to two esteemed individuals in the global chess community. Andrey Filatov of Russia, known for his strategic acumen and leadership, will take one of the Vice President seats. Dr. Hesham Elgendy of Egypt, a respected figure in the chess world, will serve alongside Filatov as the other Vice President.

The Board Members for the AACA will include Nadezhda Valerevna Marochkina of Senegal and Hiroshi Manabe of Japan. Both Marochkina and Manabe have shown exceptional dedication to the game and their contribution will be instrumental in driving the AACA's mission.

The President has appointed Dr. Abdullah Al Wahshi of Saudi Arabia as CEO. Dr. Abdullah has proven his marketing expertise in hosting a number of FIDE meetings and events.

Further, the President has appointed Mr. Hisham Al Taher as General Secretary. Known for his administrative prowess and deep understanding of the chess world, Al Taher's contribution will be key in coordinating the association's activities and initiatives.

As we welcome the Cairo Declaration of May 15th of a new leadership team, we are confident that their collective experience and dedication will continue to foster the growth of chess across Africa and Asia, and promote the game as a tool for intellectual development and cultural exchange.

We would like to thank all for their continued support as we embark on this exciting new chapter.
