Boris Postovsky Awarded by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov

FIDE recognized contribution of the experienced trainer and arbiter.

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov awarded Boris Postovsky, Honored Trainer of Russia and international arbiter, with the FIDE Golden Sign. 

Boris Naumovich Postovsky was born on May 31, 1937 in Moscow. He started his chess career in the 70s as organizer, trainer (among his students are grandmasters Sergey Tiviakov and Alexander Chernin), and correspondence chess player (USSR champion of 1979-1980). He coached Moscow team at the USSR Sparkatiads and was an assistant for Vassily Smyslov. 

In the 90s Mr. Postovsky became a head of Russian men's national team, which won four Chess Olympiads under his guidance. Boris Postovsky is also experienced international arbiter, Chief Arbiter of many major events, including S.Polgar-Ioseliani World Championship Match. After moving to the United States, he coached the US national team. 

Boris Postovsky's name is added to the Golden Book of FIDE. In 2014, he received a special honor from FIDE – the medal of Tigran Petrosian.
