Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities Starts in Belgrade

The Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities will take place in the capital of Serbia from 29 January to 5 February. This is a team competition played over four boards. The majority of teams are selected by rating, and some are nominated by the FIDE President.

At the moment, 26 teams are registered, including the FIDE team. It is composed of Tran Thi Bich Thuy (Vietnam), WIM Natasha Morales Santos (Puerto Rico), the Russian IM Andrey Obodchuk (FIDE), the Belarusian Igor Rosikhin (FIDE), and IM Justin Sarkar (USA).
