Asian Youth Chess Championships Begin on June 9 in Almaty

54 Russian players will participate.

The Asian Youth Championships among boys and girls under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 years old will be held in the city of Almaty (Kazakhstan) from June 9 to 21. The programme includes competitions in standard, rapid, and blitz chess.
 
The Russian delegation will traditionally be one of the largest: our country is to be represented by 54 young chess players. Among the participants are winners and prize-takers of various championships and competitions: Alexander Khripachenko, Isaak Parpiev, Vladimir Maslovskiy, Anna Shukhman, Kirill Otdelnov, Nikolay Averin, Leila Tabermakova, Nikita Kalinin, Uliana Dudkina and many others. 
 
Game days: June 10-11 − Rapid (7 rounds), June 12-19 − Standard (9 rounds), June 20 − Blitz (9 rounds). 
 
Last year's edition saw the Russian players take 26 medals at the Asian Championships, seven of them being gold ones.
