8 Rounds of the European Youth Championship are Played in Romania

Sofya Svergina wins the U8 girls’ event in advance.  

Games of the penultimate round 8 of the European Youth Championship were played in Romania on September 13. 

Savva Vetokhin, Timur Yonal, and Lev Zverev are pursuing the leaders in the U8 open group. Sofya Svergina, having scored 8 points out of 8, wins the U8 girls’ event with one round to go. Evelina Zavivaeva and Anna Shukhman both have scored 6 points. 

Gordey Kolesov has got 6 points in the U10 open group, while Veronika Shubenkova is leading the U10 girls’ tournament with 7 points. Galina Mikheeva and Alexandra Shvedova are half a point behind. 

Andrey Tsvetkov, Volodar Murzin, Konstantin Popov, Faddey Mochalin, and Egor Kharitonov (all have scored 6 points) are 1 point behind the leaders of the U12 open category. Galina Mironenko and Eva Stepanyan (6.5 points both) are sharing 2-3 places. 

Yaroslav Remizov is sharing the 1st place in the U14 open group with 6.5 points. Ekaterina Miroshnik is sharing the third place with 6 points in the same age category. 

Andrey Esipenko (6.5 points) is one of the leaders of the U16 open event. Ekaterina Goltseva and Zarina Shafigullina both have got 5.5 points.  

Aleksey Sorokin has scored 5 points in the U18 open group. Alena Korchagina is sharing the 3rd place with 5.5 points in the girls’ tournament.
