On June 4, Minsk is hosting the World Cadets Blitz Chess Championship among boys and girls under 8, 10 and 12 years old. 532 young chess players from 25 countires are fighting hard to win trophies and medals. FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov arrived in Minsk to see them playing. His appearance in the playing hall caused an unprecedented stir among chess players, their parents and coaches.
The names of the winners will be announced later this day. While children are playing, our readers are welcome to see more pictures of Minsk and young fighters.
