Traditional Festival Tower of Concord Starts in Ingushetia

Central event is Inarkiev vs. Wei Yi match.

A traditional chess festival Tower of Concord has started in Nazran. Youth tournaments Hopes of Northern Caucasus will be held on August 11-17. A rapid event Adi Akhmad Cup will take place on August 18-19.

A conference fo chess pedagogues will be organized on August 20-21. The conference will become a new step in cooperation of Ingushetia with the Russian Chess Federation and Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation as part of Chess in Schools project. 

The main event of the festival is Super Match on Tower: a former European champion Ernesto Inarkiev challenges three-time champion of China Wei Yi. The match consists of 6 games with classical time control and 6 rapid games. The final games will be played on the Tower of Concord (100 m in height) in Magas. 

The festival is organized by Adi Akhmad sports club, Government of the Republic of Ingushetia, Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Ingushetia, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Ingushetia with support of the Russian Chess Federation and the International School Chess Union.
