Moscow Clubs Leading Both Team Championships

Three rounds are played in Sochi.

The third round of the Russian team championships was played on May 3 in Sochi. In the Premier League, SHSM Legacy Square Capital confidently defeated Ladya (Kazan) despite giving rest to their top players, Sergey Karjakin and Ian Nepomniachtchi – 4.5-1.5. Siberia, strengthened by Vladimir Kramnik, defeated Zhiguli 4-2; Kramnik outplayed Sjugirov on the first board and advanced to the 2nd rank in live ratings with 2805. Bronze Horseman (St. Petersburg) had a day off. 

SHSM Legacy Square Capital leads with 5 match points (12 board points). Siberia is second – 4 (10.5), Bronze Horseman is third – 3 (6.5). 

In the 4th round the leaders are having a rest day. Zhiguli plays Ladya, and Bronze Horseman faces Siberia. 

In the women's championship SHSM Legacy Square Capital defeated Bukavushki 2.5-1.5, University (Belorechensk) lost to SDYUSSHOR SHSH 0.5-3.5, Donchanka and Boavista drew 2-2, Ugra defeated Ladya 3.5-0.5.

The club from Moscow leads after three rounds with 6 match points (7.5 board points). Ugra follows them with 5 points (9 board points). Boavista is third with 4 (7.5), Donchanka is fourth – 4 (7).

Malachite from Yekaterinburg leads the Higher League with 6 points, followed by Avtomatika (Moscow) – 5 (8) and Bulbozauruses – 5 (7.5).

In the all-Russian senior event the leaders are University (Belorechensk) – 6 (10.5) and Malachite (Yekaterinburg) – 6 (9.5).

2nd Gymnasium (St. Petersburg) leads the boys tournament with 6 (10.5). Chess School of Anatoly Karpov (Moscow) is in the lead in the girls championship – 6 (9.5).
