Nakamura Wins Kortchnoi Zurich Chess Challenge

Ian Nepomniachtchi finished on second place.

The second half of the Viktor Korchnoi memorial tournament was played on Monday, April 17 in Zurich. The grandmasters played a somewhat slow blitz with 10 minutes per game plus 5 second per move for each player.

Thus, grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura won the Zurich supertournament for the third time in a row.





The Kortchnoi Open ended in favor of Eltaj Safarli (Azerbaijan), who collected 5.5 out of 7 and showed superior tie-break. Other players with 5.5 points are Motylev, Rakhmanov (both Russia), Berkes (Hungary), and Guseinov (Azerbaijan).
