Indian Youth Team Goes Ahead in Friendly Match vs. Russia in Sochi

Teams from Belarus, Mongolia and Saint Petersburg lead Belaya Ladya after Round 6.

The sixth round of the 50th Belaya Ladya final was played in Dagomys on June 7. Results of the leaders' matches are as follows: Saint Petersburg - Mongolia 2.5-1.5, Belarus - Buryatia 3-1, Armenia - Moscow 2.5-1.5, Nizhny Novgorod region - Sverdlovsk region 2-2, Novosibirsk region - Kemerovo region 3-1. 

The teams from Belarus, Mongolia, and Saint Petersburg are leading the race with 18 points out of 24. 



Pairings and results

A match between school teams of Russia and India is being played as part of the event. It is a two-format contest in standard and blitz chess. A team is made up of two boys and two girls born in 2005 and later. The Indian team won 3-1 in the sixth round. The score is 12.5-11.5 in favour of the Indian chess players.

The teams are to play 2 more rounds in classical chess and 8 blitz rounds.

A rich cultural and entertaining program is traditionally organized for young players and will last throughout the entire event.
