Game 11 of FIDE Women's World Championship Match Finishes in Draw

The score is 6-5 in favour of Ju Wenjun.

The 11th game of the FIDE Women's World Championship Match between Ju Wenjun (China) and Aleksandra Goryachkina (Russia) was played in Vladivostok on January 22.

Konstantin Shestakov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Primorsky region, made the first symbolic move.

The players opted for the Berlin variation of the Ruy Lopez with 6.dxe5. The opponents were following the game M. Cornette - S. Maze up to the 15th move demonstrating a good preparation. Aleksandra Goryachkina, who had two bishops, sacrificed a pawn for the initiative, but very soon mass exchanges took place, which led to a drawn endgame with the opposite-coloured bishops. A peaceful agreement was signed right after the 40th move.

The score is 6-5 in favour of Ju Wenjun.

The ultimate 12th game with a classical time control will be played on January 23 with Aleksandra Goryachkina having the white pieces.

In the morning, the 13th Women's World Champion Hou Yifan met with chess amateurs and students of the Far Eastern Federal University.
